Designing a Student’s Augmentative Communication System to Meet Demands


Designing a student’s augmentative communication system to meet the many demands on the student can be a challenging task. Be sure that all involved are trained in the use of the system. Let the child have a trial and preview the system to make sure it is somewhat appealing to the child. Review all the aspects of the child’s life to make sure that the system can be applied to all facets, including home, school, community, and other social situations.
